Who knew China would be the new model for 21st-century learning?
I've heard school administrators rave about education in China. Some love to remind teachers that Chinese students work harder both in and out of school, attend more often and outscore their western counterparts while barely breaking a sweat.| via: VictoriaDailyPhoto.blogspot.com |
Although there are mitigating factors to Chinese students' success, the fact remains that China is changing how it educates its children, electing to create a progressive classroom that reduces what many American reformers love -- homework, testing and extra time in class.
While old-school administrators scurry to find a new example of countries outperforming America while using traditional methods, China may soon become the model for 21st-century teaching and learning.
