School administrators wising up about Teach for America
All stakeholders in the Pittsburgh schools received a marvelous holiday gift, when their school board made an enlightened decision.![]() |

The Pittsburgh school board terminated its $750,000 contract with Teach for America, the opportunistic group that has been undermining quality education for far too long.
Instead of wasting valuable dollars on TFA, the district will maintain an elementary school that was slated for shutdown.
As a longtime opponent of Teach for America, I couldn't be happier to see school board members realize what a horrible mistake they made in handing over a huge contract to a group of people who know so little about education.
Well done, Pittsburgh Schools. Merry Christmas.
